NextUp Comedy Winter Guide 2026: November to February Livestreams, US Start Times and Festival Season

By mid-November the light is gone by five, the porch is cold, and the evenings start to feel very long. In Manchester, at that same hour, a comedy club is already filling up. A run of new comedians is about to try to "beat the frog," and the room is ready to let them know exactly how it's going.
That's the trick of NextUp Comedy in winter: the London streaming service puts live UK club nights on your screen in the middle of a US afternoon, then fills the dark evenings with full-length specials. We went through its livestream schedule, help pages and catalog in October 2026 to map out the season from November through February. Prices are in British pounds, because that's how NextUp charges.
First, Get the Clock Right
The UK left British Summer Time on October 25, 2026, and the US follows on November 1. From then on, NextUp's listings run on GMT, which is five hours ahead of Eastern Time and eight ahead of Pacific. So:
- An 8:00 p.m. GMT show starts at 3:00 p.m. Eastern and noon Pacific.
- A 7:45 p.m. GMT show starts at 2:45 p.m. Eastern and 11:45 a.m. Pacific.
Can't watch at lunchtime? NextUp's homepage says that through the year every livestream is available on catch-up for 7 days afterwards. Only during the Edinburgh Fringe does that drop to around 60%, because each comedian decides.
November: Five Kinds of Comedy Night

NextUp's November listings are a sampler of UK club formats, from polished line-up nights to open competitions:
| Date | Show | UK time | Eastern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tue, Nov 3 | Comedy Knockout with David Ward (Backyard Comedy Club) | 8:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. |
| Thu, Nov 5 | Live From the Bill Murray (Angel Comedy) | 8:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. |
| Mon, Nov 9 | Beat The Frog (Frog and Bucket, Manchester) | 8:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. |
| Tue, Nov 17 | Roast Battle Scotland (Monkey Barrel Comedy) | 8:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. |
| Thu, Nov 19 | All In Comedy, Glee Club Cardiff | 7:45 p.m. | 2:45 p.m. |
| Thu, Nov 19 | Live From the Bill Murray | 8:00 p.m. | 3:00 p.m. |
| Fri, Nov 27 | Live from Glee Club Birmingham | 7:45 p.m. | 2:45 p.m. |
Pick Beat The Frog if you like chaos: NextUp calls it "the most unpredictable comedy night in the north," with new comedians trying to win over the Frog and Bucket crowd. Pick Roast Battle if you enjoy a fight. Comedians go head to head, and each battler gets five roast jokes to defeat their opponent. Pick the Glee Club nights if you want a classic line-up; the Birmingham listing promises four stand-up comedians "from rising stars to household names."

December: Competitions Before the Holidays

December keeps a steady rhythm through the first half of the month:
- Tue, Dec 1 — Comedy Knockout with David Ward: 12 comedians go head to head and the audience votes who goes through. The listing says the winner earns a weekend spot at the Backyard Comedy Club.
- Thu, Dec 3 and Thu, Dec 17 — Live From the Bill Murray: Angel Comedy's showcase night, which the listing says is full of regulars who've gone on to Live at the Apollo and Netflix specials.
- Mon, Dec 7 — Beat The Frog returns from Manchester.
- Tue, Dec 15 — Roast Battle Scotland from Monkey Barrel in Edinburgh.
All five start at 8:00 p.m. GMT, or 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Line-ups for several shows were still listed as "TBC" when we checked, so look again closer to the date.
Just Want One Show?
Here's a detail many people miss: NextUp's livestream pages also offer a one-off purchase for that single show. When we checked, Beat The Frog, Live From the Bill Murray and the Glee Club nights were £10 each, while Roast Battle Scotland and Comedy Knockout were £5. All livestreams are included with a membership, which NextUp prices at £80 a year, or "about £1.50 a livestream" in its own words.

Long Nights: Three Specials Worth a Whole Evening

When it's dark at five, a full hour of stand-up is the right length. These three sit on NextUp's own Most Watched shelf:
- Danny Bhoy, Subject to Change (1:10:30): gentle observational comedy filmed live in Montreal, from Scottish pub culture to impressions from around the world. Watch it if you want something warm to put on with family.
- Richard Herring, Lord of the Dance Settee (1:25:52): a frivolous show about daftness and bouncing joyously on the sofa, according to the listing. Watch it if you like silly with a clever streak.
- Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Hysterical Woman (1:07:15): genetics, gender and being a comedian who happens to be a woman. Watch it if you like sharp, quick-witted stand-up.

Gifting a Membership for the Holidays
NextUp sells gift memberships from the "Buy gift card" link in its site footer. The process has three steps: you buy the gift, share the details with the recipient however you like, and they use their code to unlock access through "Claim gift card." The price appears at checkout. It suits the friend who quotes British panel shows, the expat who misses a Friday night at the club, or anyone who'd rather laugh than unwrap another candle.
January and February: Festival Season
This is the stretch to plan a membership around. NextUp's support page says that during January, February and August it livestreams from comedy festivals (Access and Leicester in winter, Edinburgh in summer), so you can expect 20 to 60 livestreams in a single month, all included in the membership. If you're deciding when to join, joining before January gets you the holiday club nights and the festival rush on one £80 plan.
Before You Join
- Billing: memberships are charged in GBP. Outside the UK you can pay by card or use PayPal's currency conversion; NextUp notes that a GBP card payment may be cheaper, depending on your bank.
- Devices: NextUp says you can watch on a laptop, phone, tablet or TV, with smart TV and casting supported.
- Cancel anytime: the homepage says the plan renews at £80 a year and can be cancelled anytime.
