FOSI Audio Setup Guide 2026: 6 Rooms, 6 Real Systems From Record Shelf to Car

A needle swings across an amber dial in time with the bass line. Two little vacuum tubes glow on the shelf beside a stack of records. Out on the patio, the same playlist drifts from speakers tucked under the eaves. That's the thing about a good audio setup: it isn't only about how it sounds. It's about how it fits the room, and how the room feels when it's playing.
FOSI Audio builds small, metal-bodied boxes that slot into very different spaces, from a vintage-style record corner to a sim-racing rig to the trunk of a truck. King Review went through the brand's catalog in October 2026 and put together six real setups, each built around one FOSI piece, with US prices from the brand's own store.
Most people shop amplifiers by watts. A smarter first question is where will it live? Every setup below starts with the space, then picks the FOSI box that fits it.
Setup 1: The Record-Shelf Retro Corner

This is the setup people photograph. The MC331 ($139.99) puts two 5654W vacuum tubes and a round VU meter on the front of a compact chassis, so it looks like a piece of vintage hi-fi even when the music is coming from your phone.
Underneath the charm it's practical. FOSI lists the MC331 as a DAC, amplifier, preamp and headphone amp in one, with Bluetooth, USB, coaxial, optical and RCA inputs, so a phone, a laptop, a CD player and a turntable with a built-in phono stage can all share it. It's rated at up to 105W x 2 into 4 ohms for bookshelf speakers, with a pre-out and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The remote adjusts bass and treble from your chair, and the tubes are replaceable.
Make it a statement: add the LC30 VU Meter Speaker Selector ($159.99): two large VU meters with five brightness levels, two amp inputs, two speaker outputs and a case big enough for two FOSI compact amps to sit on top. Switch amps or speaker pairs by button or remote. FOSI rates it for up to 250W per channel.
Build this if: your speakers sit on a shelf next to your records and you want the gear to look as good as it sounds.
Setup 2: Vintage Looks on a Smaller Budget

Love the dancing needle but not the tubes? The MC101 ($99.99) keeps the VU meter and drops the price. It runs on two TI TPA3116 chips, rated at a maximum of 100W x 2 into 4 ohms, with Bluetooth 5.3 (SBC and AAC) and an RCA input for a wired source. On the back you get speaker outputs plus a pre-out.
The meter isn't just decoration: the needle moves with the signal, so you can see when you're pushing the volume too hard. Bass and treble knobs have center detents for an easy return to flat, and the body is CNC-machined aluminum.
Build this if: you want a warm, retro-looking bedroom or office system for under $100.
Setup 3: The Backyard and Patio

A patio rarely works with just two speakers. One corner booms, the other is silent. The HT4S ($119.99) fixes that with up to five speaker outputs, switchable between 4.1 and 5.0 channels. Hang four speakers under the eaves and add a sub, or spread five around the seating area.
FOSI lists Bluetooth, AUX and optical inputs, a pre-out, and bass and treble controls. The power supply is built in, so there's no brick to hide, and a remote plus one central knob handle volume, power and mode.
Build this if: you host outdoors, or you want sound in a long room that two speakers can't fill.
Setup 4: The Sim-Racing Seat and Movie Couch

The same HT4S has a second life indoors. FOSI says it can power bass shakers, small transducers you bolt to a sim-racing seat or sofa frame, so you feel engine rumble and on-screen explosions as well as hear them. The listing shows up to five shakers at once, with a bass boost for extra punch.
For a movie couch, the optical input connects to TVs that have an optical output.
Build this if: your gaming or movie setup feels flat and you want the room to shake a little.
Setup 5: The Tube-Glow Desk

On a computer desk you want a USB input, a headphone jack within reach and something nice to look at between emails. The GR40 ($119.99) covers all three: a tube DAC, preamp and headphone amp with Bluetooth, USB, optical and coaxial inputs, outputs for powered speakers or 3.5mm headphones, and a headphone priority mode. FOSI lists an ESS9028Q2M DAC (USB up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256) and aptX, aptX HD and aptX LL Bluetooth, with no driver needed.
Already have speakers and a FOSI V3? The P3 Tube Preamplifier ($79.99) is a cheaper way to get the glow. FOSI designed it to sit in front of the V3 amp, with Bluetooth 5.1, RCA in and out, a subwoofer-friendly output and a headphone jack for 16–300Ω headphones.
Build this if: you spend your workday at a desk and want warmer music and a little ambient light.
Setup 6: On the Road

FOSI's newest space is the car. The CA30 ($139.99) is a four-channel Class D car amplifier built on an Infineon IR4322 chip, rated at 100W x 4, or 320W x 2 into 4 ohms in bridged mode for subwoofers. A REM wire turns it on and off with your head unit, and an adjustable crossover (50–250Hz) lets you set high-pass and low-pass filters.
At 7.3 x 3.9 x 1.7 inches, it's sized for under-seat installs in 10–16V DC gasoline vehicles, from sedans to trucks and vans.
Build this if: your factory car stereo sounds thin and you're comfortable with (or can hire) a basic amp install.
